What's happening this week?

1) Today, Sunday - Troop Court of Honor is this Sunday from 4:00 (room set up) - 7:00 pm (clean up) in the Parlor of the church.  Chili contest dinner will start at 5:00 pm.                                                                                                                       2) Tuesday - Scouts will be working on advancement requirements.  Bring your handbooks and merit badge worksheets. See you all at the meeting.                                                                                                                                                      3) Saturday - This Saturday is Scouting for Food day 2.  We will collecting food donations from last Saturday's bag distribution.  We will meet at 10:00 am in the big parking lot across the street from the church.  Scouts need to be in uniform shirt (wear weather appropriate clothing) and bring a full water bottle.  We need a lot of drivers too (approximately 2 scouts per car).  Bring your family and friends.  This is a community service project and a great opportunity for anyone needing service hours.

When: Tuesday, February 27th    What: Emergency Management Merit Badge: City of Dallas' Office of Emergency Management will come out and do a 90-minute presentation on disaster preparedness to help our scouts who are working on their E-Prep MB. The presentation begins at 7:00pm SHARP.  Please arrive by 6:50.

1) Tuesday - At the troop meeting we will be preparing over 1000 bags for our food drive this Saturday.  This big task is a family event and we need a lot of help.  Please come out to help and get details for this weekend's events.  See you all at the meeting.                                                                                                                                                                                  2) Saturday - This Saturday is Scouting for Food.  We will be distributing the bags from Tuesday's meeting throughout the Little Forest Hills neighborhood.  We will meet at 9:00 am in the big parking lot across the street from the church.  Scouts need to be in uniform shirt (wear weather appropriate clothing) and bring a full water bottle.  We need a lot of drivers too (approximately 2 scouts per car).  Bring your family and friends.  This is a community service project and a great opportunity for anyone needing service hours.                                                                                                             3) Sunday - Your whole family is invited to our Troop Court of Honor is this Sunday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm in the Parlor of the church.  Please arrive at 4:00 to help with the room set up.  Pot luck dinner will start at 5:00 pm.  Our pot luck meal will be a Chili Cook-off.  All scouts (with parental assistance) are asked to make a pot of chili and/or a cobbler or other dessert for the contest.  This will count towards each Scout's cooking requirements and the winning chili & dessert will be the one we enter in the Spring Camporee Cook-off.  

Troop Meeting Tuesday

We are meeting on Tuesday.  Scouts need to bring their handbooks and binders.  We still have popcorn to sell to help you pay for summer camp.  Scouting for Food drive is coming up on Feb 10th.  More details will be shared at the meeting.

Scout Sunday Feb 4th

Join us this coming Sunday to celebrate Scout Sunday at White Rock United Methodist Church.  Scouts will help usher.  All scouts need to be in full field uniform (button down uniform shirt, neckerchief w/slide, and long scout pants or school pants).  Service begins at 10:50am.  We ask all scouts meet in the main entrance of the church at 10:30am.

Court of Honor - Tentative

We invite our scouts and their families to our upcoming Court of Honor and pot-luck dinner.  Date to be confirmed either Feb 11th or Feb 18th.  We need help setting up the tables and chairs.  Set up will begin at 4:30pm, dinner at 5pm, and ceremony at 6pm.  A "sign up genius" email will go out separately and you will be able to select items to bring.
